The many uses and benefits of hypnotherapy

There is a good deal of false information and beliefs about hypnotherapy and hypnosis.

Hypnosis is a shift between left and right brain, a natural process that we all experience every day. Examples of hypnotic states include daydreaming, praying, and sleeping. In hypnotherapy the client is relaxed, fully aware, and able to use his/her whole brain. Why is that important?

Memories and experiences are stored in the subconscious part of the brain, and in every cell of the body. Often these memories are critical to healing, but are “stuck”. They must be accessed and brought to consciousness in order to be processed so that the client can heal. Hypnotherapy does this in a structured and effective process.

Chronic pain and illness is rampant in our culture. Repression of emotions is one of the major causes of addictions, abuse, depression, and disease. Hypnotherapy allows for healthy emotional release and healing, and can partner well with medical treatment for these diseases.

Who could benefit? I believe everyone can benefit from this type of therapy. Problematic or stuck patterns or beliefs, anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, eating disorders, abuse, addictions, and not living up to one’s potential are some of its uses. Other uses are weight loss, smoking cessation, pain control, etc.

Hypnotherapy has a strong research base for effectiveness. It is safe when done by a qualified Heart centered hypnotherapist. I’d be happy to offer a complimentary 30 minute consult to discuss this treatment possibility and help you determine if it’s right for you. Call 913-647-8092 for an appointment.

Wishing you good health,
